UPDATE!!

We at Withered Hand (I say 'we', it's like the Royal 'we' as there is in fact only me), are very proud to welcome Dead Existence into the fold for the release of their new EP 'Born into the Planets Scars'.

It's currently with the pressing plant and should be back in time for their gig with Yob at the Purple Turtle on the 10th October. I'll be putting it up on the site shortly for pre-order. Until then, here's a sneak peak at the artwork...

In other news, a cracking review of the Crumbling Ghost album has appeared HERE. The band are currently working on new material for the next album (half has already been recorded), which should see the light of day at some point next year.

Koresh are also busy gigging and writing for the new album (to be recorded in April 2012). Song titles currently been thrown around are: 'Straight-edge 'till Midnight', 'You Can Call Me Ghaal', & 'Adolf Hipster'. Koresh's next gig is at the Purple Turtle on Sunday 16th October, followed by another (third in three months!) gig at the Purple Turtle on the 27th November.

It's been a little while hasn't it?

All is well here in the WHR camp. Crumbling Ghost became the first WHR band to get into a broadsheet newspaper yesterday with a 4/5 review in The Sunday Times! Koresh are getting their arses back in gear with some upcoming gigs and Dead Existence are gearing up for their release over here.

In the meantime, here's a run down of some upcoming gigs:

Got a surprise phone call last night to say Crumbling Ghost had just been played on Radio 6 Music. Awesome stuff. No sooner had it aired, people started buying CD's! Thank you radio listening public!

Possibly not the greatest timing as I'll soon be going off to get married! Will do my best to get purchases out to everyone who orders before Thursday 31st. After that, it'll be a week or two before posting resumes. I'll post about this again later just to give people a heads up.

Withered Hand Records are proud to announce the release of Crumbling Ghost's debut album.

They arrived at WHR yesterday and are looking very stylish. To cut to the chase, Crumbling Ghost are a bit odd and a bit of a departure for WHR. People are calling it folk doom, but I'd have to disagree. It's heavy, but it's not doom. It's got nice bits, but it's not really folk. Personally I'm just calling it prog and leaving it at that. However it is bloody good and very different, so jump in and grab yourself a copy for £8 worldwide inc P&P. Check out the bands page for a few samples.

CRUMBLING GHOST:

CG have recruited a new bassplayer! Ruth has now joined the band (she also plays in Smallgang with CG’s Matt).

Artwork is being completed for the debut album, the mastering has gone slightly awry and needs redoing, but everything is going ahead for a an early 2011 release. Two of the tracks originally intended for the album have now been cut (for length/permission reasons). I’ll post those on here soon as free downloads.

It's a been a while so I thought I'd do an update

Crumbling Ghost - Sadly Bassist and professional drinker Neil has left the band for pastures new. However, the band is pressing on and searching for a new bass player. Debut album is scheduled to be released in Feb/March 2011

Koresh - Londons premier sludge retards will be playing at The Unicorn in Kentish Town/Camden on Saturday 30th October. It's free entry, its halloween and it's fancy dress! Koresh likely on around 9pm, but bands start from 6:30pm onwards . Facebook it in the face
Koresh - More reviews are drifting out, a great one with a shitty score from Kerrang (pictured below) and a shitty one without a score.

Slight update, Crippledriver will be available in the shops from October 11th!! That's your usual HMV, Play.com, Amazon etc. So if you don't have Paypal and can't get it from here, there's not long to wait.

Hi, apologies if you have purchased CDs in the last week and not received them yet.

Have just got back from a wedding in beautiful Bergamo in Italy and I'm now very much back at my stressful and soul destroying day job.

Added to that, we are currently mixing the debut album from Crumbling Ghost in the evenings. So I've barely been back at WHR HQ.

If anyone's wondering why Koresh aren't touring/playing gigs in support of the album, there's two main reasons:

1. Drummer James 'Morrell' Morrell (also of the mighty witchsorrow (http://www.myspace.com/witchsorrowdoom) has torn a muscle in his back and fractured three ribs after drunkenly falling off the roof of his car and knocking himself unconscious. So he's out of action for the next month.

2. Koresh didn't have any gigs booked.

If you would like to offer Koresh a gig (in about a month or so) then drop them a line at: crippledriver@hotmail.co.uk

We're jumping ahead of the official release date and making it available now through Withered Hand and via Koresh's new website/blog. If you'd rather wait, it will be available through the usual shops/outlets/itunes etc in about a month (we're still waiting for the official release date).

Pete Pombagira has confirmed that their new album Baron Citadel is now back from the pressing plant. As you may know, Pombagira are no longer on Withered Hand Records as they have decided to go it alone. However, WE WILL HAVE COPIES available for Pre-order from Tuesday 31st August. Pete himself will be dropping them off in the pombagira mobile!

Baron Citadel will be £10.00 inc P&P (UK and Europe) and £12 inc P&P for Rest of World.

Hello!

Decided to make the WHR site into a blog as it should be easier for me to maintain (meaning more updates). It's a bit of a work in progress and might end up going back to the old style, we'll see how it goes.

News:

* Koresh and Crumbling Ghost have both been added to WHR's roster (funny that as I play in both bands). Also a possibility that WHR will be releasing the next Dead Existence album, depends if they get a better offer!

* Koresh have finished work on our debut album. This will be released on WHR later in the year (when we've stopped arguing about art work and album titles). I'll put up a few tracks soon, as we're just waiting for it to be mastered. T-shirts are available, I'll put info up soon.

* Crumbling Ghost have finished recording 5 tracks at Purple Studios in Norwich. A mixture of folk, prog and psychedelia with a slight doom edge. We're hoping to go into a studio in June to record another 4 or 5 tracks, at which point it will be released. I'll put up a link to the first recording session soon (as we now have artwork!)

* Pombagira have completed work on their third album - Baron Citadel. I've heard it and it's really good. Not sure if it will be released through WHR, but whatever happens it's well worth seeking out when it gets released!

* Among The Missing CD prices have been reduced!! ATM CD's are now £5.00 each!
